Sabbatical

Ms Soapbox is going on sabbatical until September (but may be tempted to post a blog or two if the craziness gets to be too much).

This is not Rudy the dog, but he’s close

I wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward to more great discussions in the fall.

All the very best,

Susan

Thank you Ms Soapbox! We have left Alberta but as we were both born and lived most of our lives there, we are still invested in what is happening in the province. Your comments and observations are appreciated from afar. We hope you have a good summer and that the craziness subsides significantly in the months ahead.

    • Thank you Connie. I’m glad you and hour significant other still care about what’s happening here. You can be our envoy, letting the rest of the world know we’re not all bananas. 🙂

Thank you for all your hard work. Enjoy your sabbatical. Hopefully the unhinged clown Posse will behave and let you enjoy your time away from it all.

    • Thanks Sharon. I’ve been watching the Kenney government’s press releases. In addition to innocuous little announcements like it’s public service week, they appear to be bundling up and re-announcing things they announced months ago. As far as I can tell, the work of government has ground to a halt while the party leadership issue gets sorted out.
Perhaps this is a good thing.

Mr. Soapbox is looking forward to the break as the blog can no longer be used as an excuse of skipping dish washing on Sundays.

Viszontlátásra susan! Have a lovely summer. I look forward to seeing you back on your soapbox in the fall, but will check in from time to time to see if you’ve got something in between.

Susan: I’ll share some more uplifting music that is in my music collection. This is from the early 1970s, and is Three Dog Night, covering the Hoyt Axton song, Joy To The World. Floyd Sneed, the drummer from Three Dog Night, was from Calgary. It’s good music, and it helps in times like these.

  20. Dwayne says:

Susan: This is my last piece of music I’ll share. It is from Sly Stone, and this features Jeff Beck, who replaced Eric Clapton, in The Yardbirds, in early 1965. The song is I Want To Take You Higher. It’s from 2011. When I saw Jeff Beck twice live, during the second time I saw him, this song was covered. Long ago, when I saw Jann Arden live, this song was also covered. Sly Stone are famous for great songs, including Hot Fun In The Summertime.

    • Dwayne says:

Also, Jeff Beck, turns 78 on June 24. He is one of the three Yardbirds guitar greats, along with Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page.
