Ms Soapbox is going on sabbatical until September (but may be tempted to post a blog or two if the craziness gets to be too much).

I wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward to more great discussions in the fall.
All the very best,
Susan

I wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward to more great discussions in the fall.
All the very best,
Susan
Have a great summer and enjoy your sabbatical.
Thanks Jeri, the minute I announcement my sabbatical Calgary was hit with an atmospheric river. I blame my sisters who live in BC!
Enjoy!
You too Public Servant!
Wishing you and Rudy and family a wonderful summer.
Thank you Paula. No matter what happens to me and my family, Rudy is going to have a blast!
Thank you Ms Soapbox! We have left Alberta but as we were both born and lived most of our lives there, we are still invested in what is happening in the province. Your comments and observations are appreciated from afar. We hope you have a good summer and that the craziness subsides significantly in the months ahead.
Thank you Connie. I’m glad you and hour significant other still care about what’s happening here. You can be our envoy, letting the rest of the world know we’re not all bananas. 🙂
Enjoy a break from the crazy! Have a wonderful summer.
Thanks Linda, we all deserve a break, hopefully you’ll have an enjoyable summer as well.
Thanks for all your great thinking!

Thank you John, when my synapses started fritzing I figured it was time for a break.
Susan enjoy your Summer and thank you so much for such great posts you provide to all of us
All the best

Thank you Carlos, hopefully WordPress will sort out whatever is ailing it and it won’t cause you any more grief when I return. Take care.
Have a great time away, Susan! C

Thanks so much Colleen. On a completely different tangent, you live in BC, one of my favorite provinces. Any thoughts on why BC scored at the bottom of the pile on the recent Stats Can happiness index? That result surprised me.

Thank you for all your hard work. Enjoy your sabbatical. Hopefully the unhinged clown Posse will behave and let you enjoy your time away from it all.
Thanks Sharon. I’ve been watching the Kenney government’s press releases. In addition to innocuous little announcements like it’s public service week, they appear to be bundling up and re-announcing things they announced months ago. As far as I can tell, the work of government has ground to a halt while the party leadership issue gets sorted out.
Perhaps this is a good thing.
Enjoy! You certainly deserve it. Keep speaking truth to bullshit!
Kate: your comment made me smile. Thank you!
Thank you for your diligence in keeping us informed. Very much appreciated, have a great summer all the best.
As commented previously , please keep speaking truth to bull shit, it is sorely needed.
Tony and Karen Lake.
Tony and Karen: thank you for the support. It’s much appreciated! Have a great summer.
And wishing all of the VERY best to you as well Ms Soapbox …
be safe and well (and maybe find a bit of rest and laughter too)!
Terry, thank you. A bit of rest and laughter is what we all need right now. Hope you have a wonderful summer.
Susan: Thanks for all your great blogs. I hope you have a great summer.
Thank you Dwayne, I know you’ll be having a great time with your incredible music collection. All the best.
Susan: Why not? I’ll share something that is in my music collection. This is from a Calgary artist, Jann Arden. This is the title track from her latest album, Descendant. After being delayed by the covid situation in Alberta, I was able to see Jann Arden live, just outside of Edmonton, on June 11, for the 18th time. This song was part of the setlist. Calgary has a lot of great artists.
Beautiful song – she is such a good singer. Yes we do have some great artists in Alberta. I think this year we will have a chance to see some of them again
Carlos: What do you think of this?

I do not want to think anything about this. Our politics are so substandard I am totally getting turned off by it.
Enjoy, although I & many of your other loyal readers will miss your posts …
Why thank you jerrymacgp. you have a great summer too!
Enjoy!
Thanks Judy. You too!
Enjoy your break, rest the brain…
process and enjoy the good things summer offers. Will look forward to your missives and perspective in September.
Thanks Yvette…summer is short here, it’s good to take full advantage of it. Have a great summer!
Mr. Soapbox is looking forward to the break as the blog can no longer be used as an excuse of skipping dish washing on Sundays.
Well, gosh Mr Soapbox, if I had known the dishes would be waiting for me I would have kept my sabbatical a secret. 🙂
Viszontlátásra susan! Have a lovely summer. I look forward to seeing you back on your soapbox in the fall, but will check in from time to time to see if you’ve got something in between.
Susan: I’ll share some more uplifting music that is in my music collection. This is from the early 1970s, and is Three Dog Night, covering the Hoyt Axton song, Joy To The World. Floyd Sneed, the drummer from Three Dog Night, was from Calgary. It’s good music, and it helps in times like these.
Susan: This is my last piece of music I’ll share. It is from Sly Stone, and this features Jeff Beck, who replaced Eric Clapton, in The Yardbirds, in early 1965. The song is I Want To Take You Higher. It’s from 2011. When I saw Jeff Beck twice live, during the second time I saw him, this song was covered. Long ago, when I saw Jann Arden live, this song was also covered. Sly Stone are famous for great songs, including Hot Fun In The Summertime.
Also, Jeff Beck, turns 78 on June 24. He is one of the three Yardbirds guitar greats, along with Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page.
